Guessing out loud

estará en el metro

he must be on the metro· tap the form for the whole table

Say these out loud

Why it works

The future tense is Spanish for probably, about right now.

Serán las ocho = it must be about eight. No contesta, estará ocupado.

Habrá + participle guesses about the past: ya habrá salido.

Why not debe estar

debe estar en el metro

he must be on the metro

Also correct. The plain future is shorter and more common in speech.
