Verbs that come with a preposition

quedar con, pensar en

to meet, to think about

Say these out loud

Why it works

Many verbs carry a fixed preposition, and it is rarely the English one.

Pensar EN, depender DE, soñar CON, contar CON, quedar CON, tardar EN.

Learn the verb and the preposition as one word. There is no rule to derive.

Why not pensar de

pienso de ti

I think of you

Pensar de is asking for an opinion. To have someone in mind is pensar en.
